Yiran Duan

As a member of the Bai ethnic minority from Southwestern China, Yiran is interested in the conservation of ethnic minority handcraft techniques, and combining traditional handcrafted textiles into our daily lives. Her practice has focuses on how to combine embroidery and traditional elements from Chinese costumes with Western techniques to explore intercultural connections.

Yiran's Designs

In January, Yiran hosted a lantern making workshop for our members to celebrate Chinese New Year. She regularly holds workshops in Sashiko slow stitching, Shibori stitch resist, embroidery and many more traditional techniques. Stay up to date with her upcoming events at WorkShop here
